About the Journal
Studies and Scientific Researches. Economics Edition (SCECO) is a peer-reviewed, Diamond Open Access academic journal that serves as a platform for the dissemination of original research in economics, business, and public policy. The journal is committed to interdisciplinary inquiry, academic rigor, and the practical relevance of research outcomes, particularly in the context of current global and regional challenges facing emerging and transition economies.
SCECO is hosted by the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Vasile Alecsandri University of Bacău, Romania, and reflects over three decades of continuous academic activity in advancing knowledge, dialogue, and scholarly contribution in and beyond Central and Eastern Europe.
Mission and objectives
Our mission is to support and disseminate knowledge that enhances understanding of economic processes, business innovation, and policy-making in an increasingly complex and interconnected world. We publish research that contributes to academic advancement while also holding practical significance for professionals, institutions, and society at large, with particular attention to the questions facing emerging and transition economies.
Scope and thematic coverage
SCECO focuses on the economics of emerging and transition economies, with a primary emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). - Economic forecasting and structural transformation: macroeconomic modeling, resilience, transitions, and global shocks
- Innovation, digitalization, and entrepreneurship: digital ecosystems, platform economies, SME growth, and entrepreneurial policy
- Sustainability, ESG frameworks, and green public policies: environmental economics, CSR, sustainable finance, and circular business models
- Inclusive development, inequality, labor markets, and governance: social equity, demographic dynamics, regional convergence, and institutional change
- Finance, accounting, marketing, and organizational strategy: strategic decision-making, financial analysis, integrated reporting, and market behavior
- Policy evaluation and institutional reform: public policy impact, regulatory innovation, governance performance, and evidence-based planning
Cross-cutting themes include digital transformation, green transition and ESG, the social economy, smart governance, and post-crisis adaptation, particularly in emerging and transition contexts and in Central and Eastern Europe.
